Back to School 2022!
At KLM, our heart is to help feed, educate, and disciple children in the central Philippines. That’s what makes us excited to think about our Back to School Project which will occur from now until July 31st. From year to year, it’s hard for families who have multiple children, yet work for only a few dollars a day, to even think about feeding their children, let alone educating them. One of the ways that KLM tries to help alleviate some of this pressure off of the families is by sponsoring children each year to go to school. As we first help meet that immediate need of hungry kids, then we want to help them begin to find ways to break the cycle of poverty, and one of those ways is by getting an education. With education comes a better chance of finding a job in a competitive market as they get older. This past year, with generous sponsors, we were able to see 64 kids sent back to school with uniforms, school supplies, a new pair of sandals, and their school fees paid for the year! As you can see from these photos, the kids were so thankful! This year, we’d like to set the goal at sending 100 children back to school on August 2nd. We have already had generous donors who have gotten us to the point of sending 40 back! That means with 60 children left to go and $30 per child to sponsor their year of fees and supplies, we need to raise as additional $1800.
